Our Story

Since 2006

The company was founded in 2006 as Shadowdata Software Sdn Bhd by James Powell Leander, Subra Suppiah and Alistair William Cran — early pioneers of predictive analytics for telecommunications and Yield Management specialists, with deep experience from NCR/Teradata. Based in Malaysia, the firm began development of predictive anti-fraud management and anti-churn management solutions for telcos across ASEAN markets, including Malaysia, Thailand and Taiwan.

In 2012, the company was renamed Oxydata Software Sdn Bhd. In 2021, it began as a Microsoft-focused systems integration and managed services provider for Malaysian enterprises. The practice has since moved further into Generative AI and agentic systems—building consulting capability and products around applied AI, not only licensed software.

Today Oxydata is Malaysia Digital certified, delivering GenAI, agentic automation, analytics and enterprise technology—from AI recruitment and intelligent workflows to enterprise data strategy—for clients including BMW, CIMB, Petronas, Hong Leong Bank, AirAsia, CelcomDigi, True Corporation and Rockwool.

Where Intelligence Meets Execution

Co-founder & CEO

Subra Suppiah is Co-founder & CEO of Oxydata Software Sdn Bhd. With more than 30 years in Data & AI, he has worked in predictive analytics and applied AI since the late 1990s, developing propensity, anti-churn and cross-sell models for telecommunications companies.

While working with NCR/Teradata Asia Pacific, he developed and helped deploy predictive analytics solutions for leading telecommunications operators across the region, including Vodafone, Telstra, NTT, FarEasTone and Globe Telecom. His subsequent telecommunications decision-support work resulted in him being named as a co-inventor of PCT patent publication WO2008075936 (2008), an early closed-loop decision-intelligence system combining customer propensity and churn models, enterprise knowledge, decision trees, and intelligent workflows to improve customer retention, product decisions, and business performance in telecommunications.

He later held senior leadership roles at Oracle, Avanade and VeriPark before serving as Regional Vice President at Salesforce, leading the Tableau (Data & AI) business across Malaysia, Vietnam and Pakistan.

Today, he leads Oxydata's development of agentic AI systems, RAG pipelines and enterprise AI products—guided by the belief that AI creates value only when it improves how a business operates.

Subra holds an MBA from the University of Auckland, New Zealand, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Central Oklahoma, United States. He also completed a Post Graduate Program in Data Science and Business Analytics, delivered in association with the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin.
