Methodology
DACUM brings experienced job practitioners and subject-matter experts together to define the work performed in a role—its work functions, key tasks, technical competencies, knowledge and abilities.
SkillPro can then complement the DACUM output with relevant Transversal Skills and required proficiency levels. Once reviewed and approved, the Role Profile becomes the foundation for employee assessment, gap analysis, development planning and continuous reassessment.

Evidence in practice
Emerson Network Power used DACUM to define the changing responsibilities of its Cooling Customer Engineers and create clearer standards for training, skill testing and career progression.

FAQ
SkillPro™ is a workforce competency management platform that combines a pre-populated skills library with organisation-specific Role Profiles, structured employee assessment, competency gap analysis, targeted development planning and continuous reassessment.
Yes. SkillPro includes a pre-populated library of roles, technical competencies and Transversal Skills. Organisations can select and tailor this content to reflect their own jobs, technologies, operating environment and competency requirements before approving the Role Profile.
An approved Role Profile is the organisational competency standard for a position. It defines the work functions, key tasks, technical competencies, knowledge, abilities, Transversal Skills and required proficiency levels. SkillPro uses this profile as the consistent reference for assessment, gap analysis and development planning.
DACUM (Developing A Curriculum) is a structured job-analysis methodology. Experienced job practitioners and subject-matter experts work together to define the duties, tasks, knowledge, skills and capabilities required to perform a role successfully. SkillPro digitises the resulting approved Role Profiles and applies them across assessment, gap analysis and workforce development.
HR teams govern Role Profiles, configure assessment cycles, analyse organisation-wide competency gaps and manage TNA and reporting. Managers assess employees, validate proficiency and assign development actions. Employees understand role expectations, complete self-assessments, provide evidence and track their development progress.
SkillPro compares the proficiency required by the approved Role Profile with the employee’s validated current proficiency. It provides a structured view of strengths, competency gaps, gap severity, development priorities and supporting evidence, including assessor observations.
Yes. SkillPro can connect to existing HR systems through a secure, read-only integration. The HR system remains the system of record, while SkillPro periodically synchronises relevant employee information such as employee ID, name, department, position, reporting manager and employment status.
SkillPro can also integrate with Learning Management Systems to align identified competency gaps and development plans with relevant learning activities. It does not need to replace the organisation’s existing HR platform or write data back to it.
Yes. Oxydata and its consulting partners can provide implementation support covering skills-library tailoring, Role Profile development, assessment configuration, employee-data integration, user training and organisational rollout.
Where required, qualified consultants can also facilitate DACUM workshops with subject-matter experts to develop and validate organisation-specific Role Profiles before they are implemented in SkillPro.
A typical initial SkillPro implementation takes approximately 6 to 14 weeks, depending on Role Profile readiness, consulting requirements and integration complexity.
Without consulting services, implementation normally takes approximately 6 to 8 weeks, assuming approved Role Profiles, proficiency requirements and employee data are already available. This covers platform configuration, Role Profile import, read-only employee-data synchronisation, testing, administrator training and go-live.
With consulting services, implementation normally takes approximately 10 to 14 weeks for an initial scope of 5 to 15 roles. This may include skills-library tailoring, Role Profile development, DACUM or subject-matter-expert workshops, competency validation, assessment configuration and user enablement.
A scheduled CSV or SFTP employee-data synchronisation normally requires 1 to 2 weeks, while a standard read-only API integration typically requires 2 to 4 weeks. Integration can run concurrently with platform configuration and consulting activities.
